slivering

you came over earlier than planned and
missed the secret by crafty slight-of-hand//
winter-sleeve-in-summer pulled in time to
hide an oozing red line//another hash
mark//a sign of my internal design//
yes, in fact eighty degrees is too warm
to be wrapped in thirty degree attire
//
it is not my desire to decree
the extent of maladaptive coping//
the self sabotaging nature in me//
freshly made skin is hidden//double-edged
shicks are tucked away//red splattered tissue
buried under rancid remnants//nothing
left to betray what transpired here today/
