Monochrome

Monochrome. The world with nothing but variations on the same theme. The computer – silver and black. The screen – gray and black. The cat – white and gray. The author – gray. All gray.


Listen. Can you hear the laughter? Quiet and sad, coming from the corner there. Perhaps it’s crying? It is difficult to tell, for the sound is muffled in the wind.

Crying. It’s crying, she says, looking towards the sky, blinking back tears unwilling to fall.
Can’t you see, they’re crying over something that is already dead. They pull, and they fight, and they hold on with all their might.
but it’s no use….it’s been dying for so long, there’s nothing worth saving inside….

sometimes, doesn’t it feel like there are just no more words, anywhere?
